Every Last Girl

“Every child has the right to a future. Save the Children works around the world to give children a healthy start in life, the chance to learn and be safe. We do whatever it takes to get children the things they need – every day and in times of crisis.”

If you check out section 6, the Girls Opportunity Index you’ll notice that all the Nordic countries that were included in the list made the top 10, which isn’t that surprising really, meanwhile, the United States appears embarrassingly low on the list at #32.

The stats on maternal mortality in the US and other places are both shameful and depressing, and what’s worse is that for years maternal deaths have been on the rise in the US. We can do better than this, and we should be, so why are we always trailing along behind every other major country?

The section on child marriage is also very disturbing, but as a whole, this article is so informative and important and I recommend taking a look at the entire PDF and sharing it:
